Insurance & Payment Options
I currently accept the following insurance plans through Headway:

-
Anthem Blue Cross of California
-
Aetna
-
Blue Shield of California
-
Carelon Behavioral Health
-
Cigna
-
Quest Behavioral Health
-
Magellan

Note: UC SHIP, the student insurance for UCs, is an Anthem Blue Cross plan. UC SHIP requires a referral from your university's counseling center to see off-campus therapists.

Most insurance companies will require that you pay what's known as a copay at the time of the session directly to the service provider while insurance covers the rest of the cost. This copay is usually $10-$30 depending on the plan. This payment will be collected through Headway, and you're able to use a credit card.

I unfortunately do not take any Medicare or Medi-Cal (also known as Medicaid) plans at this time.

Insurance can be very confusing! I've put together a quick FAQ section on insurance for your reference.
Out-of-Network Benefits
I utilize a platform called Thrizer to help clients save the most amount of money on therapy by utilizing their out-of-network benefits if I do not accept their specific insurance plan. Most PPO plans will offer Out-of-Network benefits. Thrizer will verify your benefits once you sign up with them, and is HIPAA compliant.

Many insurance plans will require that you meet a deductible amount before the out of network benefits kick in. After you meet the deductible, you'll pay just the co-insurance amount per session instead of having to pay the full amount and wait weeks for a reimbursement from your insurance company. Thrizer will handle sending the claims to your insurance company on your behalf.

Keep in mind that using Out-of-network benefits will most likely still be more expensive than in-network benefits, but can be helpful for cost-saving if your preferred provider isn't in-network.
Self-Pay
For clients who would like to pay completely out of pocket, my rate is $150 per session. I offer limited reduced fee spots available through the Open Path Collective that offer session for between $40 and $70 depending on income after paying a one-time $65 membership cost to join Open Path. I accept payment via Venmo, debit & credit card, or HSA/FSA card.
